Our Founding Fathers “Understanding the Constitution”

Hi,

David Gibbs Jr & David Gibbs III have written a tremendous book “understanding the constitution” http://www.christianlaw.org/cla/index.php/resources/
that tells the real facts about the writing of the declaration of independence, constitution and bill of rights. It’s a factual book written without prejudice that reveals a lot of forgotten history.

Some highlights are
-when it seemed that the first constitutional congress was about to fall apart because of disagreements by the representatives of the 13 colonies Benjamin Franklin often thought to be a deist gave a speech asking the members to invoke prayer because prayer had always worked for them during the revolutionary war. In a turnaround said to be miraculous by George Washington the representatives were suddenly able to compromise and forge the constitution.
-many of the founding fathers recognized that something great was taking place. They were pursuing something that had never been done in human history, They were creating a document that would provide self government and freedom. No kings. no dictators.
-our government was formed with careful checks and balances through the three separate divisions of executive, legislative and judicial branches.
-preachers were expected to instruct their congregations in theology and politics so that our nation would follow virtue as its guiding force.
-we need to realize that revisionist history in the 1930’s changed many facts and that the phrase “separation of Church and state” does not appear in the Constitution. Those words were 1st uttered by Supreme Judge Hugo Black a former Klansman while he was issuing a comment on Catholic School busing. Judge Black hated Christians even more than Afro Americans & Jews.

This book is a must read for anyone interested in why our nation was formed in comparison with were its been heading the last several decades. It would also be great curriculum for upper grade schools. Most of the facts and history in this book were buried by revisionist history in the 1930’s.

These days we are facing an economic crisis and need to prepare ourselves more effectively for the recovery – to discover opportunities, identify potential partners looking for opportunities, looking for a reason to hope. Now it’s a good idea to ask: how could my product/service provide opportunities in today’s economic climate?
